16 июля закончился легендарный джазовый фестиваль в Монтрё (Швейцария). В этом году фестиваль отмечал свой юбилей – на берегу озера Леман уже 50 раз отмечали праздник музыки.
Созданный в 1967 году Кодом Нобсом, Рене Ланжелем и Гео Вумаром джазовый фестиваль в Монтрё стал одной из главных достопримечательностей Европы. За эти годы здесь выступали такие музыкальные легенды как Nina Simone, Miles Devis, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Prince, David Bowie, Steve Wonder и другие.
На протяжении всей своей истории фестиваль верен своим традициям и сохраняет душевность и интимную атмосферу. Не смотря на возрастающую популярность фестиваля, создателям удалось сохранить его камерность. Именно поэтому музыканты сегодня как и почти полвека назад могут взаимодействовать со зрителями, погружая их в удивительный мир музыки, сочетающий в себе джаз, соул, рок, а также современные музыкальные направления.
На фестивале также широко представлено все многообразие музыкальной культуры ной культуры Бразилии. Благодаря особой любви к ней одного из создателей фестиваля Клода Нобса на фестивале можно услышать богатство звуков Рио, Сальвадора, Ресифи.
Электронное направление представляли, в частности, пионер французской электронной музыки Jean-Michel Jarre, и группа Air, получившая мировую известность благодаря саундтрекам к фильму Девственницы-самоубийцы Софии Копполы. Господин Жарре назвал фестиваль в Монтрё настоящим оазисом в мире музыки, и с ним невозможно не согласиться – такая здесь волшебная атмосфера.
На время проведения юбилейного фестиваля небо Монтрё осветилось сиянием ярких звезд мира музыки. С первых дней основную сцену заняли завсегдатаи фестиваля Buddy Guy, ZZ top, Simply Red, Carlos Santana, Deep Purple. Neil Young покорил сердце аудитории всех возрастов и на протяжении трех часов концерта держа
л всех на пределе эмоций. По просьбам слушателей Lana Del Rey впервые исполнилиа а капелла одну из ранних композиций «Salvatore». После 10 летнего перерыва Muse заявились на фестиваль и взорвали зал энергией своей музыки.
Приехав в Монтрё, в голове сразу возникла строчка из песни Deep Purple “We all came out to Montreaux, on the Lake Geneva shoreline», которая была здесь и записана. Забавно, что теперь повсюду развешены таблички «Don’t smoke on the water», которая предостерегает гостей то ли от курения на озере то ли от пожара, который застиг Deep Purple во время написания этой песни. Входя в ворота фестиваля, открывается великолепный вид на озеро Леман, швейцарские Альпы и набережную, украшенную цветами и пальмами.
Истинные ценители музыки приехали сюда из разных уголков мира, чтобы отметить этот праздник творчества и получить незабываемые впечатления. Здесь можно бесплатно послушать выступления молодых музыкантов, попробовать заморские деликатесы и просто хорошо провести время. На фестивале действовали следующие концертные площадки: концертный зал, названный в честь знаменитого русского композитора Игоря Стравинского, рок-подвал, музыкальная лаборатория и клуб. Музыку также можно было послушать поднявшись до самой горной вершиной под звуки джаза на специальном джаз-поезде или же в джазовый круиз по спокойной глади озера. А по субботам все как и раньше собиралась на пляжные вечеринки у бассейна и танцевали под клубную музыку.
Отметить 50 фестиваль джаза приехали 240 000 любителей музыки со всего мира. Отдавая дань своим корням, фестиваль открыт новым веяниям музыки и идет в ногу со временем. На две недели маленький городок Монтрё стал центром музыкальной жизни. Удивительные ритмы и ноты объединили всех участников в единое целое. Праздник удался на славу!

50 Jazz Festival in Montreux
July 16 came to the end the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland). This year the festival was celebrating its jubilee — on the shores of Lake Geneva the grand celebration of music took place for 50th time.
Created in 1967 by Claude Nobs, René Langel and Geo Voumard Montreux Jazz Festival has become one of the landmark events of Europe. Over the years Montreux has seen the outstanding performance by musical legends including Nina Simone, Miles Devis, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Prince, David Bowie, Steve Wonder and others.
Throughout its history, the festival is faithful to its traditions and cherish its soulfulness and intimate atmosphere. Despite the increasing popularity of the festival, the creators managed to preserve its intimacy, that’s why musicians today as almost half a century ago, can interact with the audience, immersing them into the wonderful world of music that combines jazz, soul, rock and modern music styles. The festival is also widely represented by the diversity of musical culture of Brazil. Due to the special passion of one of the founders of the festival Claude Nobs at the festival you can hear the richness of the sounds of Rio, Salvador, Recife. Electronic direction represented, in particular, by the pioneer Jean-Michel Jarré of french electronic music, and the band Air, received international fame thanks to the soundtrack to The Virgin Suicides of Sofia Coppola. Mr. Jarré called Festival in Montreux an oasis in the music world, which is absolutely true- what a magical atmosphere is in here!
At the time of the jubilee of the festival the sky of Montreux was lighted up with bright shining stars of the world music. From the first day we found Festival habitués Buddy Guy, ZZ top, Simply Red, Carlos Santana, Deep Purple on the main stage of the festival. Neil Young won the heart of audiences of all ages and for three hour of the the concert held them at the limit of emotions. At the request of her fans Lana Del Rey for the first time whispered
a capella one of the earliest compositions «Salvatore». After a 10 years pause, Muse broke into the festival and detonated hall with the energy of its music.
Once you arrived in Montreux, a line from the song of Deep Purple «We all came out to Montreux, on the Lake Geneva shoreline», which was written here, immediately stats to spinning in the head. It’s funny that now the signs «Do not smoke on the water» are everywhere to warn visitors whether from smoking on the lake or from the making fire that caught Deep Purple during the writing of the song. Entering the gates of the festival you can see a great view of the lake Léman, the Swiss Alps and the promenade, adorned with flowers and palm trees. True music lovers came here from around the world to celebrate this festival of creativity and to live an unforgettable experience. Here you can listen to free performances of young musicians, taste overseas delicacies and simply spend a good time. At the festival the following stages were operated: Concert Hall, named after the famous Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, Rock cave, musical laboratory and the club. You could listen to beautiful sounds of jazz music climbing up to the mountain peak the on a special jazz train or in a jazz cruise on the calm surface of the lake. And on Saturdays, everybody was dancing to DJ sets in swimwear on pool parties, like back in the day…
Over 250,000 music lovers came from around the world to celebrate 50edition of Jazz Montreux Festival. Making nods to its roots, the festival is open to new music trends and keeps up with the times. For two weeks the small town of Montreux became the center of musical life. Amazing rhythms and notes gathered all the participants together. The holiday was a success!
